Platform Engineer
What You’ll Do
Keep Kubernetes clusters and workloads running securely and efficiently, applying SRE principles and zero trust architecture.
Automate packaging and deployment of containerized workloads in highly available, multi-AZ configurations.
Deploy and operate portable solutions on both AWS (EKS) and self-hosted on-premise cloud environments.
Own GitOps delivery pipelines using Flux and Helm, including multi-tenancy, reconciliation management, and environment promotion (dev → staging → prod).
Define and maintain SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets; lead incident response and post-incident reviews.
Implement zero trust security controls using Istio (mTLS), Kyverno policies, Falco runtime detection, and Trivy image scanning.
Manage secrets with SOPS + Age and integrate IRSA for AWS service identity.
Manage infrastructure as code using Terraform and Crossplane; detect and prevent configuration drift.
Operate the full Grafana observability stack (Loki, Mimir, Tempo, Alloy) for metrics, logs, and traces.
Required Qualifications
3+ years in platform, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering on Kubernetes in production.
Deep hands-on experience with AWS EKS, including networking, RBAC, scheduling, and storage.
Proficiency with Flux for GitOps continuous delivery and Helm chart lifecycle management.
Experience with Istio for mTLS, traffic management, and canary/blue-green rollouts.
Strong understanding of SRE practices: RED metrics, SLOs, error budgets, alerting, and on-call.
Experience with secrets management (SOPS, Age, or external secrets stores) and IRSA.
Hands-on experience with Terraform and/or Crossplane for infrastructure as code.
Familiarity with zero trust tools: Kyverno, Falco, Trivy, and supply chain security practices.
Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Go.
Nice to Have
Experience with Karpenter or KEDA for cluster and workload auto-scaling.
Familiarity with Keycloak for identity management and Harbor for artifact/container registry.
Experience with data platform tooling: Knative, Flink, Kafka (Strimzi), PostgreSQL (CloudNativePG), Redis, or Trino.
Exposure to chaos engineering practices (e.g., validating HA configurations under failure).
Experience operating self-hosted on-premise Kubernetes environments.

Pay & Benefits
Salary is part of an overall compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity for you to grow and develop within a role.
The salary range for this role is between $130,000 and $200,000, and your salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience and location.
